Organic vs. Non-Organic: Making Informed Choices

Environmental Working Group analyse data from thousands of samples of different fruit and vegetables to create these helpful lists – “The Dirty Dozen” and “The Clean Fifteen”. These lists help you decide which produce to prioritise buying organic due to high pesticide exposure, the dirty dozen, and which are safer to buy non-organic, known as the clean fifteen, which have the least pesticide exposure.

Ultimately, the focus is on consuming a wide variety of plants in your diet, whether they are organic or not. However, these lists are helpful for making informed choices when food shopping. Remember to thoroughly wash all your fruits and vegetables regardless of whether they are organic.

I'm currently working with a client and have created a nutrition plan aimed at improving her digestive health. She's on a budget but wants to include as much organic produce as possible, so these lists are incredibly useful for her. If you know someone who might benefit from this information, please share!
